I will champion education and workforce training opportunities, including collaborative methods to improve our literacy rates, to help provide for successful future career opportunities for young men and women.

I will support crime reduction efforts and the work of our public safety officials in keeping our neighborhoods safe. I will work proactively with our police, sheriffs, and first responders to ensure robust emergency and disaster response.

As your Supervisor, I will consistently advocate for the responsible and wise
investment of your tax dollars in all decisions made by the Board of Supervisors.

As we confront our county’s budget shortfall, we must focus on conservative spending solutions. I will champion sound, balanced, and accountable financial investments throughout Yolo County. Our residents deserve protection from the costs of fiscal mismanagement, and we must safeguard the interests of our rural communities and all taxpayers by delivering efficient and robust services. I will maintain an open-door policy and hold myself accountable to the people of Yolo County, ensuring transparent governance that serves everyone’s needs.

I am resolute in my commitment to support infill housing that prevents urban sprawl and preserves our community’s unique character. I will support the development of mixed-use housing for families of all sizes and the implementation of practical solutions to homelessness. I will champion the effective implementation of state-allocated funding for mental health and housing services targeted at homeless individuals with severe mental illness (Proposition 36). Our unhoused populations require recovery support services so they, too, have opportunities to join the workforce.

Our County has a rich agricultural heritage and provides nutritious food to our homes and schools. I will prioritize and protect our prime agricultural lands and guard our County against sprawl. I am committed to supporting farmers and ensuring their voices are at the center of policy discussions affecting their daily work. This includes future flood protection proposals that affect our farmers and ranchers in the rural areas. I will promote opportunities that empower aspiring entrepreneurs and strengthen our agricultural sector.

As our population continues to grow, we must take decisive actions to conserve and efficiently store water for the future. I am committed to safeguarding and optimizing our vital water resources. Due to the unpredictability of climate change and drought, our water resources are in high demand, and our county is under pressure to support southern counties with our water supply. Along with stakeholders and farmers, I will work to identify cost-effective solutions that ensure our county maintains adequate water reserves.

I am committed to protecting our environment and meeting our goal to reduce emissions and achieve a carbon-negative footprint by 2030. Climate change has posed challenges to our production and livestock, and we need to protect our agricultural resources. I will support minimizing food miles and promoting the purchase of local foods and products to assist our local growers and farmers. I will champion initiatives that empower our farmers to combat drought through cutting-edge agricultural research and strategic investments in technology.
